Athanasopoulos Takis

Industrial Engineer with post-graduate studies and Ph.D. in Business and Economics from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He taught at Universities in the USA as well as at the University of Piraeus where he served as Rector (1987-1990).
Founding member, Chairman and CEO of Toyota Hellas (1989-2000), Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Toyota Europe (2001-2006) and Managing Officer of Toyota Motor Corporation (Japan) (2004-2006). Chairman & CEO of Public Power Corporation (2007-2009), Chairman of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (08/2012-03/2013) Vice Chairman of the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (2010-05/2014), Chairman of the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (05/2014-to date), Chairman of the Board of Heracles General Cement Company, a member of Lafarge Group (05/2014-to date).
Professor Emeritus of the University of Piraeus (1999). Awarded with the Emperor’s of Japan Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star (2007).
