Biography

Dimitris Liakos was born in 1972 in Athens. He is the Deputy Minister of the Prime minister of the Hellenic Republic since the 5th November 2016. Previously he served as director of the Economic Office of the Prime minister (15th October 2015 – 4th November 2016). He was scientific advisor of the Vice president of the Greek government (2nd February 2015 – 27th August 2015). He had leading role in the implementation and successful conclusion of the negotiations of the 3rd MOU between the Greek government and the institutions.

Prior to his engagement with the political party of Syriza, he has served as a General Manager and Investment Manager at Aeolian Investment Fund S.A. (March 2010 – January 2014). Before that he has served as Senior Fund Manager for the mutual funds of International Mutual Fund S.A. (November 2007 – March 2010) and Bank of Cyprus (May 2002 – July 2007) respectively. He studied Economics (BA, 2001) at the University of Piraeus and holds a MBA from EEDE (2005).
